Seals Production Line

Last Friday, a few friends and I got together for some pizza, wine drinking, and our first T-Shirt assembly line. Woohoooooo…Everything went pretty smoothly. This was the first time we ever had orders…and also the first time we ever had to make 30 shirts at once, so that is a pretty big accomplishment.

A few weeks before production started, Jay posted a link to a webpage where he listed the shirt as a “one day only sale”. Limited edition shirts = pretty high class. The design on the shirt is actually the logo for his hockey team and also his floor hockey team.

During our production line, Steve threw his undershirt in the mix so he could get a free shirt. His shirt was a much different kind of fabric which gave the design a nice “vintage” look….which is ironic because that was how it was designed to look anyhow, the shirt just added to the effect.

The screening actually went pretty quickly, except for the few times we had to clean the screen because the paint started drying in it. The part that took the longest had to be the ironing. Each shirt needs to be heat set on the front AND on the back. That’s a lot of ironing. We took turns…while drinking wine.

Steve may have had one too many glasses to be using a hot iron…Jay looks much more classy when ironing and drinking wine at the same time:

After only 3 hours, our production was complete AND successful!

Yea for the shirt making assembly line! Looking forward to the many nights of shirt making production lines and wine drinking in our future. 🙂
